Man arrested after girlfriend found buried under his bed

A 28-year-old man was arrested after his girlfriend was found buried under his bed, Free State police said on Thursday.

Police searched the man’s shack in Monyakeng, Wesselsbron, on Tuesday and noticed a foul smell, Captain Stephen Thakeng said.

They found her buried in a shallow grave under his bed. Her family reported her missing after she went missing on April 17. They suspected her boyfriend knew where she was.

The man would appear in the Wesselsbron Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
