Man Kills Friend Over Soap

A man from Pumula South in Bulawayo reportedly killed his friend following an argument over the disappearance of a soap which had been placed in a Shebeen lavatory for use by imbibers after relieving themselves.

Khumbula Dube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Advocate Manasa Musiwa on Monday this week facing allegations of attempting to murder his friend Decent Nyathi.

According to court records, following the argument, Dube allegedly punched Nyathi until he sustained injuries that led to his death the following day.

Dube was apprehended and dragged to court before attempting suicide in an attempt to escape the wrath of the law.

He was remanded in custody to 20 May 2016. - Umthunywa
