Ruvheneko not hosting Olinda Chapel Foundation High Tea
The Olinda Chapel Foundation has advertised Ruvheneko as the host(ess) of their High Tea, but Ruvheneko will not be in the UK this weekend .
Harare, Friday 30 June 2017 -- I, Ruvheneko, will not be in the United Kingdom this weekend. The plan was to come in good faith after Ms Chapel invited me to support her event; but for reasons not fully communicated to me, the plans have changed.
Until Tuesday this week, I was ready to leave Harare for the UK as the Director of Ceremonies/ Hostess for The Olinda Chapel Foundation High Tea scheduled for Saturday 1 July 2017. The event organisers began marketing this event with me as the host before all 'Ts and Cs' were agreed upon and most importantly before I had obtained a Visa to the UK. This was illegal on the organisers' part and careless of me to allow it.
I am communicating this now, a night before the event, because I have been waiting for the organisers to clear the air with the public and also with me, but they have not said a word about my absence and I worry that this is unfair to guests and may make me appear as a 'no show,' which is grossly inaccurate. I intended to come but the plans were not in my control.
At this stage, the organisers would have more than me to say regarding the details of this turn of events because I have not heard from Ms Chapel who is currently evading my communication.
Regardless of the details between myself and the Olinda Chapel Foundation, I would like to apologise to those who were looking forward to me being there; the disappointment is shared. I don't doubt that there will be other opportunities for us to meet. The Zimbabwe - UK Diaspora Community is a Zimbabwe I have always longed to engage with and this would have been a fantastic opportunity to connect. Thank you all for your loyal support of my work.
I wish the event every success and I hope that the Olinda Chapel Foundation grows professionally and operates with sincerity and integrity to achieve its vision and mission.
