Zimbabwe’s Vice President, Emmerson Mnanagwa is in a critical but stable condition after an assassination attempt earlier this afternoon, Khuluma Afrika can exclusively confirm.
Mnangagwa was air lifted by an air force helicopter to Gweru where he is receiving critical emergency care.
The Vice President began complaining of massive chest pains, while sitting at the high table, shortly after having meal with other high level government delegates.
Within thirty minutes, he was vomiting blood, and at some points lost conscientiousness completely.

It is the fourth assassination attempt on his life in the last two years. While several other plans to oust him have been thwarted by military intelligence.
Mnangagwa had been in Gwanda for a youth interface rally.
#Update: The Vice President began complaining of discomfort about 7 minutes after finishing his meal. In less than 10 minutes he was vomiting heavily.
- A helicopter from the airforce was sent in to air lift him.
- He was first sent to Gwanda Hospital, but it was determined that his condition was critical, and the facilities and personnel would not be able to provide life saving care
- At the point of transfer, they were worries that the VP may not even make it to Gweru
- At this point he has regained consciousness.
