In the aftermath of his release, the political party of Ayah Paul Abine, PAP, filed a complaint with the African Commission on human rights and freedoms against the State of Cameroon. The PAP accuses the state of Cameroon of “arbitrary and abusive detention” of its President Ayah Paul Abine. To this end, the PAP claims the sum of 100 billion CFA francs for damages, as a result of what it describes as injustice.
As a lasting solution to the Anglophone crisis, Ayah Paul’s party proposes as prior the release of all persons still imprisoned in the context of the crisis and compensation to all families who have lost members in this crisis, As well as anyone who has suffered an abuse of his person because of this crisis.
