Despite the huge subvention that was promised to the primary and secondary schools in Cameroon and the release of some of the Anglophone detainees, 99.9% of the private and mission schools in the Anglophone section of Cameroon still remain closed.
In september (prior to school resumption), a communique signed by the the Minister of Secondary Education, Jean Ernest Ngalle Massena Bibehe was released stating that the sum of 2 billion CFA has been allotted as subvention to primary and secondary schools in Cameroon. The envelope will be distributed to both mission and lay private schools that QUALIFY.
The refusal of the mission and lay private schools to open their doors, clearly disqualifies or makes them ineligible to recieve the 1 million CFA.
Most Biya,s critic say the subvention is just a bait that president Biya is trying to use, to entice school proprietors in the Anglophone region to open their doors.
