Some Cameroonian government officials have been criticised for their use of derogatory words against the people of the North West and South West regions.
Cameroonians in the Diaspora recently issued a communique condemning Minister Issa Bakary Tchiroma and Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai for their arrogant use of hate speech, exhorting the officials to resign.According to The Post Newspaper, the diaspora also indict Ministers Lauren Esso and Fame Ndongo for purported intimidation and dictatorial tendency to suppress free debate of the Anglophone Crisis on public media.
Going by reports, the decision was one of the resolutions arrived at in the Patriotic Cameroon Diaspora forum on the Anglophone Crises that took place from October 13 to 15, 2017, in Paris.

The meeting held under the theme; “Strategies and Organisation of the Cameroonian Diaspora for a Sustainable Contribution to Socio-Political Change in Cameroon”, was followed by Cameroonians from across the Diaspora, who were campaigning for change in the country.
In its 16 point-resolution, participants of the Cameroonian Patriotic Diaspora called for the unconditional release of all those arrested in connection to the Anglophone Crisis, also “condemned vehemently and in the strongest possible terms the excessive use of force against peaceful and unarmed civilians in the Northwest and Southwest Regions”.
“We call on the Cameroon Government to immediately take full responsibility and disburse funds to assist all victims hospitalised or receiving treatment as a result of injuries sustained during this crisis and compensate the family of our fallen heroes,” reads an excerpt of the communiqué.
The forum also appealed for a “special investigation on the allegations about the Mayor of Buea, Patrick Ekema, for his role in the violence and brutality exerted on the people of the Southwest Region.”
The participants agreed that Francophones in the Diaspora will contribute and support victims of the crisis that have seen some families losing their loved ones and property. Cameroon Government Officials Slammed On Hate Speech Towards Anglophones.
