The Zimbabwe Republic Police has condemned “unruly conduct” by mourners at funerals after high-riding contemporary musician Mukudzei Mukombe, popularly known as Jah Prayzah, was attacked at a funeral on Tuesday.In a statement issued late Wednesday, police press and public relations officer Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said the force was concerned with violence at funerals.
“Members of the public are, therefore, warned against engaging in any acts of violence during funeral proceedings. If parties have disputes, these should be resolved in a peaceful manner,” he said.

Jah Prayzah, whose latest album Kutonga Kwaro was released mid-October and is topping charts on local radio stations, was pelted with missiles at the burial of one of his former heads of security, Crispen Nyemba, who died early Sunday morning after his vehicle crashed into a precast security wall along Samora Machel Avenue in the capital.
Nyemba and another occupant died at the scene.

The lanky musician ‑ who has done several projects with continental giants such as Mafikizolo (Sendekera) of South Africa, Nigerian Davido (My Lilly), Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania (Watora Mari) and another Nigerian Yemi Alade (Nziyo Yerudo), had to sprint from his attackers, who accused him of not contributing anything towards the funeral, despite “owing the late three months’ salary”.
