Cameroon’s constitutional council will today rule on petitions calling for the partial or total cancellation of Sunday October 7 Presidential election.
According to Cameroon’s electoral code, the constitutional council ensures the regularity of he elections and must also rule on post electoral complains.
Among the eighteen petition files are that of files of Cabral Libii of the UNIVERS party, Maurice Kamto of CRM, Joshua Osih of the SDF. kamto who claimed he was the winner barely 24 hours after elections, is asking for a partial cancellation of election results.
According to Kamto, military rigged polls in the restive northwest and southwest English-speaking regions, where they were sent to secure polling stations.

Elecam says thirteen of the petitions to annul the election were from another would-be presidential candidate, Bertin Kisob, who is on pre-trial detention for supporting Anglophone separatists.
The constitutional council will rule on the claims today before announcing the vote’s final outcome on or before October 22.
