President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s nephew, Admire Sanyanga Sibanda, who goes by the name Chief Shumba, has released his own counter to Winky D’s “KaSong kejecha”.
Chief Shumba’s song which is titled “Mushana Pajecha” is in the mould of “ED Pfee” and seeks to endorse President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership in the wake of the deteriorating economic conditions. Winky D, on the other hand, has denied that his song is political. Speaking through his manager, Jonathan Banda, the musician said,
I was actually surprised that there is a political interpretation of the song. I thought it would be taken as a social message because Winky D is apolitical.
If this song is political, then anything else can be given a political meaning. For some unknown musician to then make a political response to it while others contemplate not playing it on the radio is worrisome and uncalled for.
