British Minister of State for Africa at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Harriet Baldwin has expressed her disgust that Zimbabwean soldiers are raping a woman during the crackdown as punishment for protesting against the government.
This follows an ITV report that identified at least 11 women who alleged that they had been raped by men in uniform, some of them by more than one man and without protection.

Baldwin called on President Emmerson Mnangagwa to act on the matter. Writing on Social Media, Baldwin said,
Sickened by @ITV reports that Zimbabwe’s security forces have raped civilians during their violent crackdown. Sexual violence is an atrocity and who is commanding these forces? The UK urges @edmnangagwa to ensure these perpetrators are brought to justice. #Zimbabwe
