The Queen is owned and produced by veteran actors Connie Ferguson and her husband Shona. It has emerged that one of The Queen’s top actresses, Dineo Moeketsi was fired from the show while on lockdown.
Dineo Moeketsi (nee Langa), has been with the show since its first episode in 2016, is reported to have asked for some time off to shoot another movie. Instead, she received a stern email from Ferguson’s telling her to not return to work after the lockdown.
A well-placed source weighed in on what they called betrayal: “She is distraught. She thought the Ferguson’s are family. More than just losing a job, she feels a sense of betrayal because when she asked for the time off they agreed. Then boom, the letter of severance arrived during lockdown”.

According to Sunday World, Cindy Mahlangu, who plays the character of Siyanda, and Zenande Mfenyane, who plays Goodness Mabuza, are also on their way out for various reasons.
Zenande portrays the character of Goodness Mabuza, the daughter of the ruthless and conniving Gracious Mabuza played by Rami Chuene – who left the show early this month. Many have been speculating that the show’s producers have killed her character from the soapie because they could not craft a storyline for her character due to her pregnancy.
