Sports journalist and football administrator Spencer Banda has scoffed at the allegations that he raped and sexually molested more than 10 underaged girls who were students at Sodbury High School in Banket.
Sodbury High School is owned by the Banda family. Mhepo News learned of the allegations after multiple former students made damning allegations against Banda on Wednesday night. The allegations were aired during a Facebook live streaming show on the page Sis Melly’s Diaries which is run by Melissa Maisva. In an interview with a local publication, Banda denied the rape and sexual abuse allegations and challenged the women to take him to court so that he can defend himself.
Speaking to H-Metro, the veteran sportscaster said,
“I have said it before, and I will say it again, rape is a serious allegation that’s not reported and defended on social media, if anyone was raped in the gruesome ways being narrated on social media, they should report the matter and let me have my day in court, I am waiting.

“If someone alleges that I raped them, they should take me to court as what happened in 2004, we went to court and it was discovered that they were lying, so if anyone feels that I was unjustly cleared, we can go back to court again.”
While Banda says that he was cleared of rape in 2004 after going to court, the Herald has him going to court in 2006.
Some of the women who allege that they were raped by Banda when they were students also allege that Banda’s wife Sharon, turned a deaf ear to her husband’s shenanigans. Sharon who was the headmistress at Sodbury High School between 2007-2008 is alleged to have accused the student of seducing her husband after the student had reported to her that Banda had tried to rape her. The woman went on to say that Banda allegedly continued molesting her whenever he got the opportunity.
Banda insists that his hands are clean and claims that the allegations are the work of his detractors.
