Entertainer Pearl Thusi has been left devastated by the demise of the veteran on-screen character Mary Twala at the end of the week, relating affectionate recollections she imparted to the star.
Mary passed on Saturday morning at Netcare Park Lane Hospital in Johannesburg. She was 80 years of age. Her demise sent stun waves the country over, as companions and fans poured onto web-based life to pay tribute to the veteran.
Pearl included her message of tribute Instagram, offering a video of herself to Mary. She said the country was honoured to have seen Ma Mary’s ability, and she was attracted to it.
“I hooked on to Mam Mary in a manner I can’t clarify. I was a shadow or tail on her at work. I generally checked for her first in the call sheet.
