Controversial religious leader Shepherd Bushiri's followers are making headlines once again. Bushiri and his wife Mary are expected to appear at the Pretoria Magistrate's Court today after they were arrested earlier this week.
Bushiri's followers made sure to flock in their numbers outside the court to show their support for the couple. Followers have been making waves on social media as many have been judging them for blindly supporting the self-proclaimed prophet.
South Africans shared their views about Bushiri's followers on various social media platforms in the last week. The official Facebook page for Bushiri has been sharing updates on the proceedings outside the court.
In an interview on Bushiri's official Facebook page, a man who travelled from Limpopo to protest outside the Pretoria Magistrate's Court says he was not happy about the Bushiri's arrest.
"We are here to fight for our Papa and Mama. We want them out today. We want them to go home because we are waiting for him there."
After being questioned by the interviewer on the release of the couple, the man said:
"Papa is a citizen of this country. He did not come here by himself. He came here because God sent him this side."

Derrick spoke to those who were against the prophet, he said they planned on organising a "big march", he then urged followers to go to Pretoria to join the protest.
