Boity Coming For Everything In 2020 |
“I completely retracted from using relaxers and chemical infused products and I allowed my hair to grow on its own. I stopped cutting it and not putting heavy chemicals on it, the more I allowed it to be the more I started enjoying my natural hair,” she says.
I enjoyed seeing my hair in its natural state and I began to love it, this is the hair God gave me and I have to care of it; It’s my crown

“I started these hair products because I wanted a way to take care of my hair even If I was going to cover it through protective styles or wigs. I also do not get to see products that look amazing and that I know are fantastic for the hair, we don’t get to see products that are packaged and presented beautifully. I wanted to see that but if I don’t see it I'm going to create it and that’s what I did.”
Boity says that she has had to get acquainted with her hair on a educational level and she has had to learn the terminology used to describe black hair.
“I have 4C hair and my hair type is the very coily one and it lives off moisture. All we used to hear about our type of hair was to condition the hair and use shampoo. We were hearing this from the western perspective whereas we are not supposed to wash our hair that often because our hair grows off the moisture that it releases from the scalp.”
When creating her hair products she took into consideration that hair wash days for black women were a somewhat tedious process and her products are designed in a way that allows black women to do very simple wash day without taking hours to get the desired healthy hair.
“The ingredient in the products are meant to help with the moisture so that you do not have to spend all that time applying products. The products do the work quicker and you don’t have to use as much time to get the goodness of the products.”
Boity hopes that black women get to fall in love with their hair.
