Founder and creator of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg shocked the world when he announced that he’s changing his globally known company name from Facebook to Meta.
He made the announcement at Facebook’s Connet augmented and virtual reality conference on Thursday, 28 October.
Mark stated in the announcement that Facebook is more than just a social media company and wants people to know that.
“We are a company that builds technology to connect people and the metaverse in our DNA. Just like social networking was when we got started.”
He says the company is moving away from just writing a post to living inside the social world.
He assured people that they’ll be able to do anything they can imagine in the metaverse.
“Get together with friends and family, work, learn, play, shop, create as well as completely new experiences that don’t fit how people think about their phones and computers.”
