Multi-award winning musician Jah Prayzah has come out to set the record straight after a local tabloid misquoted him.
The local tabloid had reported that Jah Prayzah said he doesn’t enter local awards anymore.
“I dont enter local awards anymore” read the headline
This headline made it look LIKE Jah Prayzah was throwing shade at the local music industry and awards. However, that is not what Jah Prayzah said during the interview.
Jah Prayzah’s manager Keen Mushapaidze revealed that the headline was bogus as they did not discuss anything in line with that. Keen Mushapaidze revealed that they told the local tabloid that;
“They do not submit for awards considerations globally”

Taking to his Instagram, Keen Mushapaidze set the record straight and called out Trust Khosa for misquoting them.
“This type of journalism is bogus. It’s sad that they will tell you of rules that permit them to twist words but here is what my Mukoma Trust had to say when I complained yesterday after seeing the headline yakanzi LOCAL. I had decided to let it go like we always do but ndirikuona chakutotenderedzwa kunge advert ye Sahwira. This is wrong! And yes we will not change our beliefs, WE DO NOT SUBMIT FOR AWARDS CONSIDERATIONS GLOBALLY.
Still got much respect for Mukoma Trust NO!! YOU STOP IT! “ he wrote.
As if that wasn’t enough, the tabloid went on and put up another bogus controversial story about Jah Prayzah.
Commenting on the bogus story, Jah Prayzah said that from now onwards he is going to shift to video interviews to avoid being misquoted or having someone twist his words.
“Let’s just shift to video interviews only. Izvi zvekuti wataura icho munyori onoshandisawo ake mashoko zvinonetsa. Asi kana mulife in general zvinowanikwa, things are lost in translation so we keep it moving.
Thank you Keen for shedding more light on this.”
