In a bizarre turn of events, hip hop musician Holy Ten has blamed Sungura legend Alick Macheso for the lukewarm response he has received for his new album Energy.
Holy Ten’s new album Energy was released on 11 June, a day after Alick Macheso released his latest album “Tinosvitswa Nashe”.
Holy Ten’s album had a polarising effect with opinions divided on social media. His arch-nemesis Voltz JT said the new album did not meet the standard Holy Ten had set with his previous releases. Voltz JT went on to accuse Holy Ten of being arrogant and big-headed. He said:

In his defence, the leader of the youth as Holy Ten is known by his legion of fans, blamed the lukewarm response to the timing of his album launch. He said:
To be honest with you, my album is very good. I, however, miscalculated and made the grave mistake of launching the album at the same time Macheso (Alick) was also launching his. We cannot fool ourselves and try to compare some of us with the likes of Macheso. He is in a league of his own, the same league as the late Dr Oliver Mtukudzi. In comparison, we are mere kids.
However, fellow hip-hop musician, Ti Gonz dismissed Holy Ten’s excuse by saying:
We are talking about two completely different genres here. The people that follow Sungura are not the same as those that follow hip-hop. This excuse, therefore, falls away.
