South African based Zimbabwean musician ShaSha born Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro has issued an official statement after she failed to attend the Victoria Falls Carnival in April this year.
ShaSha was a no show at this year’s edition of the Victoria Falls Carnival together with her frequent collaborators Kabza de Small and DJ Maphorisa. The trio who were listed as headlining acts were billed to perform at the carnival but failed to turn up despite being paid in full. This prompted the organisers of the show to sue them for half a million rand.
The organisers of the Vic Falls Carnival also requested the trio to pay back the full booking fee, flights, and accommodation fees and apologise to fans for the incident.
In a statement, ShaSha apologised to the fans and the organisers of the Vic Falls Carnival for failing to perform at this year’s edition. ShaSha who parted ways with her management after failing to show up at the carnival in April revealed that there have been changes within her environment which she imply contributed to her failing to attend the Vic Falls Carnival.

She also said that she is working with the organisers of the Vic Falls Carnival to make it up to her fans. Africa Metro publishes the full statement by Sha Sha below:
Hello to all my friends and fans who attended this year’s Vic Falls Carnival. I’d like to apologise to you, and to the festival too, for not attending this year’s edition.
Over the past few months, there have been a lot of changes in my environment. A lot of you might have noticed my silence on social media too. It’s important that I share with you all that, right now, I’m at a moment that marks the end of some things but the wonderful beginnings of others too. In the middle of it all I was unable to fulfil my commitment to be part of the Carnival.
I know this caused a lot of disappointment but I am asking you to please trust me to make it up to you. My team and I are working hard to come up with a new plan, together with the festival organisers who have been incredibly patient and supportive. I hope we can announce our plans, alongside some even more exciting news, in the weeks to come.
I can’t wait to perform for all of you. Love to everyone.
