The Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah has put to rest rumours of his exit move from Liverpool after penning a new contract with the Reds.
Salah extended his contract with Liverpool to 2025.
According to reports, Salah is now the highest-paid Liverpool player after leapfrogging the defender Virgil Van Dijk who is earning £220 000 per week.
Having extended his flirtation with Liverpool, Salah will be pocketing a hefty £350 000 per week.
As of late, Salah was embroiled in a discussion of who is the highest-paid African footballer.
It was reported that former Liverpool ace Sadio Mane was the highest-paid African player after signing with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Mane joined Bayern after penning a three-year contract with the Bavarians. The prolific forward was reported to be earning £250 000 per week, overtaking his former teammate Salah and other African players, Riyad Mahrez and Thomas Partey.
Mane’s advisor Bacary Cisse even rubbished such reports arguing that such figures are inflated, the player is not earning that amount.
Those are false rumours, We didn’t want to talk about that. A player of Sadio’s calibre can’t be earning the salary that people are speaking about.
The numbers circulating are completely wrong.
