Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa says God is about to chance the fortunes of Zimbabwe which is going through a tough time. Speaking ahead of United Family International Church’s Judgment Night 2 Prophet Makandiwa said yesterday that God was about to do a “new thing” for the church and for the nation of Zimbabwe at large. The event is slated for April 19.
In a brief address to thousands of people who attended yesterday’s morning service in Harare, Prophet Makandiwa said God had confirmed to him that Zimbabwe’s socio-economic landscape was headed for massive transformation.
“I looked at you and I looked at this nation after Judgment Night and I began to shake. “I can guarantee you that there has never been such an event before,” he said as he reminded congregants not to depend on their ability but on God’s power.
Prophet Makandiwa has, on countless occasions, prophesied that this country’s economy is on a rebound and that God is about to do something spectacular for this nation. “I have had people come to me and say man of God we have tried our best . . . But I am saying this time don’t try your best but try God’s best. Jesus and His blood are the best that you can try this time around,” he said.
More than 150 000 people, of which 8 000 will come from abroad, are expected to attend the event at the National Sports Stadium, up from about 120 000 that were at the inaugural Judgment Night in 2012.
Reports are that some international visitors have already arrived for the event while most hotels in the capital are already booked.
This is a night where such ills as poverty, hunger, disease, barrenness and many afflictions will be “judged” by the blood of Jesus. “After that night, your life shall be re-directed. There shall be realignment and reform.”
Already, UFIC teams are busy putting transport, accommodation and other logistics in place in preparation for the day.
The church will set up two pulpits, one inside the National Sports Stadium and the other at the B Arena, to cater for the overflow from the 150 000 people expected to attend the gathering. The B Arena is another ground outside the National Sports Stadium where big screens would be in place for thousands who would have failed to fit inside the stadium to easily follow proceedings.
Speaking at a Press conference on Friday, UFIC spokesperson Pastor Prime Kufakunesu said the church was prepared to hold the mega event, one of the biggest annual church gatherings in southern Africa.
“There are going to be two pulpits, two stages, for the Prophet to be shuttling between the main arena and the B Arena to minister,” he said.
“We expect a minimum of 150 000 people to converge at the National Sports Stadium. So, we are also going to use the B Arena.” Pastor Kufakunesu thanked the Government for endorsing the event, especially as it promotes good values and attracts a lot of tourists, both domestic and international.
Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Walter Mzembi said on Friday that the Government was fully behind Judgment Night 2 and was working with UFIC to ensure that visitors were accommodated and granted an opportunity to visit tourist attractions before and after the event.
“We say thank you to our Honourable Minister, it’s a good thing when Government comes in to partner churches, especially for such events,” said Pastor Kufakunesu. “Ours is only the religious aspect, but it’s painful when you see that the religious tourism aspect has not been taken advantage of.”
