THE MDC-T has remained tight lipped on possible disciplinary action against Chitungwiza mayor and party cadre Philip Mutoti, 45, who is embroiled in messy sex scandals threatening to sully the party’s image.
Mutoti’s philandering has been in recent news reports, and was in May this year accused by one 29 year old Dickson Masanga of snatching his wife Nelly Nyamadze, 21.
The affair led to the breakdown of the young couple’s marriage.
Mutoti’s latest scandal has climaxed with sensational allegations by his own wife Alice Kuvheya, 31, the opposition politician was bedding up to 15 women.
This led to a public quarrel between the couple with Kuvheya now filing for divorce with her love crazy husband.
The wife also claims Mutoti can part with a generous $100 bill to pay for a single sexual encounter with his numerous lovers.
Kuvheya, recent reports say, also claimed that so insatiable was her hubby’s appetite for sex that he would use tablets to boost his virility.
“I am tired of him; after he infected me. Ava kundiudza kuti ndiri kumusemesa (He now says I am disgusting). He can have up to 15 girlfriends and give them US$100 as payment,” Mutoti’s wife was reported as saying.
“In order to spend the whole night having sex, he buys the Blue Diamond pill.”
The wife has since lodged rape and domestic violence reports with St Marys police in the dormitory town against the philandering MDC-T official.
MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu said the party knew nothing of its official’s sex scandals.
“Handisati ndambozvinzva, ndirikutozvinzva newe (I haven’t heard of that; I am just hearing that through you now) so it’s news to me,” Gutu told NewZimbabwe.com.
“All I can stay is that I was not aware of this but without necessarily commenting on it exactly since I don’t have the details yet, I can assure you as spokesperson that the MDC is a party of excellence and will do everything to ensure its officials conduct themselves in a manner that does not damage its image.”
Sex scandals are however not new to the main opposition.
Party leader Morgan Tsvangirai has in the past been involved with several women and in some instances being forced to part with a lot of money in out of court settlements.
The party’s former director Toendepi Shonhe was also in 2010 splashed in local newspapers after being involved in a love affair with a married party employee.
