It was the last day of August and Pastor Mboro’s bodyguards had allegedly not been paid . . . Again!
One guard, Festus Collins (37), said they went to demand their pay on Monday, but instead of getting money they were chased out and moered.
“We had an agreement to be paid R5 000 every month, but since I started working for him I have been paid only once,” said Festus.
He said Prophet Paseka Motsoeneng, known as “Mboro” of the Incredible Happenings Ministries, shot at them three times.
Festus sustained a serious head injury when Mboro and one of his remaining guards allegedly assaulted him outside the yard. Daily Sun spoke to Prophet Mboro yesterday. He said he had never assaulted his guards.
“The men who came to give you a story used to be my guards before and their company agency took firearms from them.
“I have been keeping them in my house and giving them some money by my grace and not as a salary.
“The beating happened because the men had issues against each other, hence they fought. But I never fought anyone at all,” he said.
Mboro said whoever called Daily Sun was trying to destroy and prevent him from participating in the South African Men of the Year Awards.
Another guard, Peter Kadiege (33) said: “I will never trust these so-called men of God again!”
Terence Hlongwane (33), of the VIP security company that supplies the prophet with guards, said he had tried to speak to Mboro but he never pays.
Sergeant Frank Nkuna confirmed that a case of attempted murder was opened at the Alberton cop shop.
He said no one has been arrested.
