A BOGUS employment agent, who duped various people of cash after misrepresenting to them that he could facilitate their recruitment at Innscor Africa fast food outlets around the country, has admitted to the charges.
Learnmore Mushangazhike told the court that he was in the process of paying back the people he conned of their cash.“Do you want the court to believe that a thief can steal so that it would return the stolen property at a later stage,” asked magistrate Tendai Mahwe.
Mushangazhike replied:
“I don’t want the court to believe that but I was in the process of paying back the money to the people whom I conned.
“It is true that I committed the offence,” he said.
The 26-year-old admitted to taking more than US$800 from unsuspecting job seekers.
