Corantin Talla is one of the former student leaders of the 1990s, exiled for 24 years in the United States The power of Yaounde has just refused him the entry visa in Cameroon Exclusive interview of "General Schwarzkopf".
If Cameroonians suffered in their flesh and in their conscience the repressive drifts of the government against the compatriots who struggled in the early 1990s for the advent of a democratic Cameroonian society, respectful of human rights and concerned with the aspirations of citizens, Corantin Talla is in. Perhaps not in the same way as those brutally murdered by a zealous soldiery, which is quite relative if we postulate with voltaire that when we have lost everything and we have nothing more to do win, life itself becomes a reproach, and death a duty.

This Man Wants To Hunt President Paul Biya - Cameroon 2018 Presidential Elections |
He was not at the time a politician in the trivial sense of the thing, but it is just like, because all that participates in the management of the city is POLITICAL. In this respect, one might say that to think that one does not make politics when one is an actor of social demands is to do politics without knowing it, like Monsieur Jourdain of the famous comedy Les women of learning, "who prose unknowingly. With Benjamin Senfo Tonkam, presented at the time as the most charismatic of student leaders gathered in an organization they had named "The Parliament" as well as some of his former combat comrades of the time such as Yimga Yotchou Blaise alias Abu Nidal, and Waffo Wanto Robert aka General Collin Powell, Talla Corantin aka General Schwarzkopft,
To this day it is clear that Talla Corantin is full of gall against Paul Biya's regime that he wants to see rid of the floor, even if he confesses that his personal experience of suffering under this regime forbids him any idea or intention of revenge or vengeance. In the near-river interview he gave us and which we publish below, he explains why the current regime must pass the hand, or rather give it the place in 2018, and more specifically why a nth the current President of the Republic is not desirable. Will it achieve its goals where the Fru Ndi, Ndam Njoya, Hameni Bieleu, Samuel Eboua, Maurice Kamto ... have lamentably bitten the dust. Only the future will enlighten us.
Hello and thank you for lending to the questions of Free Forum. Who is Corallin Talla?
It is I who thank you for wanting to know more about my history, my vision and my ambition for an emerging Cameroon. That said, Corantin Talla is a Cameroonian born in Yaounde, a native of the Bahouan village in western Cameroon. I spent my primary and secondary education in the city of Yaoundé, notably at the lycée general Leclerc and at Bafoussam where I obtained a Bac D in 1986. Later, I enrolled in the faculty of sciences of the university from Yaoundé where I obtained a License in Botany in 1992. I am also the co-founder of the Parliament of Cameroonian students of the years of embers, better known as General Schwarzkopf. For 24 years I am in exile out of my country after being excluded for life from all the universities of Cameroon by the Cameroonian government for subversion and other reasons. I have lived in the USA for nearly 21 years, where I obtained a master's degree and a PhD in Public Administration and Public Policy. Moreover I am an oracle software engineer and works as Sr Oracle Database Administrator as a consultant to companies and several federal government departments of the United States. I am also owner of a computer company named Tallaco Inc and CEO of an American NGO called Conscience of Cameroon Inc.
For some time you have announced your intention to be a candidate in the next presidential election to come to Cameroon. Can we know the reasons for this candidacy?
There were many reasons for the declaration of my candidacy for the presidential elections. Despite its many natural resources and human capital, the poor governance of the current regime characterized by corruption, the tribalization of the administration, the marginalization of Cameroonians from the Diaspora, repeated abuses of citizens' rights, lack of transparency and of responsibility in the management of public property, and I have suffered, has negatively affected the living conditions of the immense majority of Cameroon and consequently damaged the image of Cameroon throughout the world. C ' is to propose a credible alternative to the bad governance of the Biya regime that will be able to permanently improve the living conditions of Cameroonians and make Cameroon an emerging and respected country in the concert of nations that I decided to run for the supreme magistracy of my country. country. For example as an expert in e-government I plan to focus on modernizing our administration through the use of information and communication technologies to improve transparency and accountability in public services and facilitate citizen participation in the political process and government decision-making. Unlike today's leaders who use the people by plundering the resources of this people without thinking of meeting their basic needs such as electricity, water, and primary health care, I will put the citizen at the center of my concerns as a servant of the people and institutional mechanisms that allow the people to sanction any leader who uses them instead of serving them. For this I have a vast program of electoral and institutional reforms to improve the democratic governance of Cameroon, including the limitation of presidential mandates to 2 mandates of 4 or 5 years; the presidential elections have 2 rounds; the establishment of a truly independent electoral body; computerization of the entire electoral process; the the granting of dual nationality to all Cameroonians with all the rights relating thereto. In short, I am a candidate because I want to involve all Cameroonian citizens, including those from the Diaspora, in the socio-economic and political transformation of our country and to erase the negative socio-economic and political indicators that do not honor the nation Cameroonian. You know it's a secret to say that: Cameroon has been times classed by Transparency International as the most corrupt country in the world; to say that according to the annual report of the World Bank 'Doing Business' which ranks the countries of the world in order of merit in terms of attraction of investments, Cameroon is ranked 142nd out of 179 in 2015; to say that despite the energy potential and the availability of water sources in our country, the incompetence of the current government makes sure that there are untimely cuts in electricity and a sharp lack of drinking water in households ; to say that the country is plunged in an ocean of moral decadence, dishonesty, corruption and that ritual crimes no longer move the citizens ... and so on. Unlike the current apparatchiks in power, I have the political will to take measures for the welfare of all citizens and not to be in power to perpetuate myself on the presidential chair. drinking water in households; to say that the country is plunged in an ocean of moral decadence, dishonesty, corruption and that ritual crimes no longer move the citizens ... and so on. There is a feeling that you still rely on the aura of yesteryear of the glorious struggle of the student parliament of the university of yaounde that shook the regime of Paul Biya in the 90s where you were the champion of the arrangers of crowds. Do not you think that this era is over?
In politics, one must rely on all its strengths. And my political history is part of it. Nevertheless, you have noticed that in the previous question I spoke about the motivations of my candidacy by highlighting my project for the Cameroonian society which gives priority to linking to the digital economy without making an incursion on my past as a student leader . I have obtained an education, an expertise and a proven professional experience, which coupled with my political experiences allow me to lead a team of Cameroonian men and women capable of improving the living conditions of the populations and transforming our country into an emerging pay. Most important, even in exile I have remained active in the struggle for genuine democracy in Cameroon through lobbying actions, organization of demonstrations to denounce the abuses of our government, humanitarian work in the community and so on. I am no longer a student today ... I am an accomplished politician and a statesman who asks only the suffrage of the people to set up his political program. The most important thing in our country today is a leader who has the political will to make a positive change in society and not to use anti-democratic subterfuge in order to remain in power. You left Cameroon since 1994. And you seem to be saying that you have maintained contacts in the country. Do you have enough human resources inside Cameroon with whom you work to challenge Paul Biya?
Yes we have human resources that animate the activities of Conscience of Cameroon in all the regions of Cameroon. There are many young people who volunteer to create ramifications of Cameroon Conscience across the country and effectively use social networks for mobilization. In addition, I am in touch with other progressive political leaders in the country with whom we exchange regularly. In short, I can assure that we have both financial and human means for our conquest of power. Other strategies of mobilization and expansion will be highlighted as soon as I arrive in the country. Progressive alliances are even in sight. For now I prefer to silent the details and you have to understand why. It is true that my presence on the spot can be a turning point to remobilize the Cameroonians by convincing arguments through the media and other actions on the ground. Obama has not taken years to be known and take power in the US. So it's a matter of strategy. You also know that several former parliamentarians from inside and outside have recently dubbed my candidacy. And I can reassure you that many are actually members of my campaign team. There is also a lot of enthusiasm for my candidacy in the European Diaspora. Last year during the tour of explanation of the motivations of my candidacy and rallying to our reform movement, all the Cameroonians of this diaspora agreed to support me.
Are you finally the candidate of the youth as you like to claim it or that of the diaspora? Speaking of your arrival in Cameroon, A few days ago we noticed different reactions in the social networks about a refusal of your return to Cameroon by the consular authorities of our country in Washington. What exactly is it?
I am the candidate of all Cameroonians, including those from the Diaspora. Regarding the cowardice of the Yaounde regime, which consists in preventing a citizen candidate in the presidential election from coming to communicate with his people before the next election deadlines, you can read in extenso my official reaction ( camer.be link). This demonstrates the fear of this regime against the serious and incorruptible candidate that I am, who never entered the manger, and that was a nightmare for the power of Sir Biya. If not, how can we explain that we leave other opponents of the diaspora who were in the same conditions of exile as me or not to return freely to Cameroon and not me. Worse still, these authorities refuse to explain the reasons for banning my entry into Cameroon. I have included the telephone number of the Cameroonian embassy in Washington so that the citizens call the ambassador or the consul to ask them the reason of the refusal of authorization to enter Cameroon of the Candidate Correspondent Talla.
Why have you waited 25 years before thinking of returning to Cameroon?
It was necessary to have the time to acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise that would enable me to participate positively in the socio-political and economic transformation of my native country. And then to put this technical knowledge and ideologies into actions for the positive change of Cameroonian society. It should also be noted that there have always been several security obstacles concerning my return to Cameroon. But after several reflections, I decided to serve my country at the top of the state and I can not do it by staying abroad. It is necessary to be known by the new generation and capitalize on the capital estimates of the generation of agents of positive change of years embers.
You are the president of the NGO of American law called Conscience of Cameroon and candidate for the next presidential election. You are not unaware that the Cameroonian law does not yet admit independent candidates. On which banner do you intend to apply?
That's a good question. We had 2 options to submit my application. And my trip to Cameroon should also allow me to choose one of the options: Either to transform Cameroon's conscience which has already been legalized in Cameroon as an association, by Alice Sadio, current President of AFP and Mr Poufong, secretary general of the AFP and current president of Conscience of Cameroon-Cameroon, in political party; or to take the lead of an existing political party. You understand that I already work closely with political forces on the ground in a strategic way. At the time I refused to take responsibilities in the AFP because of the fact that I do not live in the country.
Do the Cameroonian people expect to see you soon as the head of a political party?
Absolutely, I will be the candidate of a political party in alliance with other parties of the united front for the alternation in gestation. Since, in order to be an independent candidate, the signatures of the elected representatives and others who are in the majority of the ruling party must be sought. This makes my application as an independent candidate impossible. Several young leaders of the political parties whose names I prefer to deny call upon me to take the lead of their party. They have faith in my ability to beat the candidate of the ruling party who should not be Biya. For the candidacy of Paul Biya is unacceptable and can create a civil war in Cameroon.
You are not unaware that the law allows President Biya to be a candidate for his own succession. And in your media outings, you are not always tender with the president of the republic. What can explain this particular animosity? Are you afraid of the natural candidate of the Rdpc?
In 34 years this gentleman has brought misery and desolation to the Cameroonian people because they are more anxious to stay in power than to reduce poverty and create the conditions of employment, education and health for all; especially for young people. My challenge to Biya stems from the fact that he only cares about his friends and families with whom they plunder Cameroon as a gang to the detriment of the vast majority of citizens who are taken prisoners in a prison of 475,000 km2 without possibility to free themselves. They can neither express themselves individually nor have the opportunity to develop individually. How can we explain that despite an economic growth rate of around 5.8%, the poverty rate is increasing in Cameroon with a current rate of almost 45%. This obviously indicates that the fruit of economic growth is diverted by an elite politico-administrative administrative economic and political predator of the people. My mission is to hand over power to the people so that they can have every means to take charge of their entrepreneurial spirit and the presence of opportunity for all. Yes Biya can be a candidate according to the law voted by the parliament which is only a chamber of registration of its wills, but its nth application is a danger for peace and social cohesion. That is why I have been hammering for years, wherever I am, that his candidacy in 2018 is unacceptable. What are your relations with the following political and civil society leaders: Neither John Fru Ndi, Adamou Ndam Njoya, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Garga Haman Adji, Edith Kah Walla, Maurice Kamto and Hilaire Kamga of the orange offer. And do you think you will succeed where all its leaders have failed in the last twenty years?
I have contacts with some of these people and other leaders not mentioned. Unless of course Issa Tchiroma Bakary who does not miss the opportunity to baptize me especially as a sorcerer's apprentice in the pay of the Americans. We were all in the coordination of political parties and associations in 1992, but today Issa Tchiroma is shamefully the sounding board of a predatory regime. This politically unstable and opportunistic character will be the first to spit in the face of Biya if he loses power. To be more precise, I plan to work in a united front for alternating with young political leaders such as Kah Walla, Alice Sadio and many others. And I was planning to do it on my return to Cameroon so that, together we put our strengths to change the regime. I do not pretend to think that I will have to succeed where all these leaders have failed, as it is true that the mentality of the Cameroonians has changed. Young people do not become more involved in the political thing and are not easily mobilized as in years of embers. Nevertheless, the Yaounde regime fears my capacities and strategies of mobilization and did not want to take the risk of letting me enter the country. I am always thinking of working in a synergy of reflections and actions with the patriots of the interior who have all my support for everything they do on the ground to get the " peaceful alternation to power. Do you have the American nationality and when will your next attempt to come on the spot lead the Cameroonian people?
Cameroon is like a grandmother who is being assaulted by bandits. I will not stop fighting to release this great mother even if the balance of power is not to my advantage. And I reassure you that we are working to reverse the trend and entrust power to the people. I am a candidate because I fulfill the conditions of eligibility. That said, the problem of nationality does not arise. It is up to the Supreme Court to validate or invalidate my application when the time comes. I will soon be in Cameroon.
Your End Message to the Cameroonian people.
I ask the people to remain mobilized so that together we get the alternation. I urge them to follow massively the slogans of the opposition leaders who are currently on the ground. Our leitmotif is Advances and not a step back until the final victory. Thank you for your interest in our compatriot activities. Keep up the good work and see us again soon in Cameroon.
