According to information that reaches us, clashes between the police and the population have been going on for several hours in several neighborhoods of the city of Bamenda.

Witnesses speak of gunshots that would have sounded in several localities of the city while other sources announce the death of two gendarmes assassinated by the populations. No official confirmation has yet been given to this provisional record of the clashes.

Last Monday, clashes were reported between members of the national gendarmerie and a group of unidentified youths in Jakiri, Bui, who reportedly attacked a local school. A gendarme was killed during the clashes.
