Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (ADV) – Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is expected any time now, to endorse or scrap a decision by the Nigerian National Judicial Council (NJC) to dismiss two judges from their portfolios.
The two judges have since two days ago been suspended awaiting President Buhari’s final decision.
The concerned judges are Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court and Justice James T. Agbadu-Fishim of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
Well placed sources told ADV on Saturday that President Buhari was studying the decision and is very likely to endorse it.
The decision to sack the judges was announced in a statement by the Director of Information of the NJC, Soji Oye, on Thursday in Abuja during its 87th meeting.

It added that some of the EFCC’s findings included funds lodged by several personalities into various accounts belonging to the judge and an ex-parte communication between the judge and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mr. Godwin Oblah on a matter pending before her.
It stated that Justice Agbadu-Fishimwas recommended for dismissal sequel to the findings of the council on the allegations contained in another petition by the EFCC.
According to the statement, the EFCC had alleged that he received various sums of money from litigants and lawyers that had cases before him, as well as some influential Nigerians, under the false pretence that he was bereaved or that there was a delay in the payment of his salary.
By all indication, this conduit was contrary to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
