Genius Kadungure's Best Kept Secret Revealed

Secrets of the late businessman and socialite Genius Kadungure are starting to unravel weeks after he died in a tragic road accident.

Reports by The Sunday News reveal that Ginimbi, as he was popularly known, in 2011 had a child with a Gutu-based businesswoman.

During the funeral of Ginimbi, his father Anderson Kadungure told the media that his son did not have any offsprings but confirmed rumours that he had many children out of wedlock.

As far as I know, Genius did not leave behind any children. Last time I heard through rumours that he had children everywhere, but I was never introduced to any of his children,” he said

However, the Sunday News has established that Ginimbi had a son(name withheld) with a Gutu-based businesswoman – Ms Miyedzo Madondo in 2011 after the two met in 2006.

Ms Madondo is the daughter of the late businessman Mr Elias Madondo who owned various business enterprises including a hotel and a farm in and around Masvingo.

Some of Ms Madondo’s relatives who requested to remain anonymous confirmed that the couple was once in a serious romantic relationship.

They (Genius and Miyedzo) were madly in love. They enjoyed their romance and we all adored it. They both tattooed each other’s names on their arms. That shows the level of affection they had for each other, said the Madondo family members.

The relationship between Ginimbi and Miyedzo is believed to have abruptly ended when their son was born.

Ginimbi’s 9-year old son was not included in his unsigned last will and testament that the Kadungure family and other stakeholders accepted at the Master of High Court last week.

Ms Madondo, however, said she did not want anything to do with the wealth of her former lover saying her family was financially prosperous.

I was born into a family with everything that I needed, so we are ok. We don’t need anything, so please just leave us alone, she said.

Now that we know of Ginimbi’s 9-year-old son with Ms Madondo, one wonders if there are other children out there as rumours suggest.
