Michelle 'Moana' Amuli’s burial has further been delayed again as judge, Justice Kwenda asked for more time as he is yet to finalize his decision.
“I’m aware that I made an undertaking that the ruling will be ready by 230 but the case isn’t a common one so it requires going through thoroughly. My ruling is not yet ready. My assistant will be in touch with the lawyers. Judgement is reserved,” said Justice Kwenda.
Justice Kwenda said, he will communicate with the parties’ lawyers as soon as possible.
The burial of Moana was postponed last week after her mother, Yolander Kuvaoga, represented by her lawyer Jerome Madondo, made an urgent chamber application at the High Court to nullify the burial order issued on November 18.
This comes after her father Ishmael Amuli, last week dramatically seized the burial order and threatened to bury her as per the Moslem tradition, leading to the mother, Yolanda Kuvaoga, approaching the High Court on an urgent basis.
Yolander wants her late daughter to be buried at Zororo Cemetery as she claims that if her daughter were to be buried the Muslim way at Warren Hills, she and others would not be allowed to attend the funeral.
Moana’s remains are still at the mortuary at Parirenyatwa as her parents fight over control of the funeral program.
She died in a horror car crash that also claimed the life of controversial businessman Genius ‘Ginimbi’ Kadungure and two of their associates Karim Cazal Limumba from Malawi and Alichia Adams from Mozambique.
