Botswana’s most sought-after musician Zolasko Watsay says he is elated with the success of the song Hamen Hlebanna he collaborated with Mambo Dhuterere.
He said he was at a loss for words to describe his gratitude since their song is one of the popular jams in his country. In an interview with H-Metro Entertainment & Lifestyle, Zolasko revealed that Hamen Hlebanna is making waves in Botswana and being appreciated especially in the Southern African region.
“The song is doing very well in Botswana and it’s been in Top Five on Overview Radio Playlist which is a chart for top 10 trending songs in Botswana and the highest it went was number three.
“I receive videos every day from people dancing or playing the song in cars or homes or offices from South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and others,” said Zolasko.
The 32-year-old said this collaboration has propelled their status to another level and admitted it is his best collaboration since he started recording. “I think we are getting more recognition across the world and getting more fans that didn’t know much of us in different countries, we are also having a good response from YouTube as our video has had almost 500000 views to date.
“This is my best collaboration so far, not discrediting any of my previous collaborations, all my collabos are important and they always yield positive results and I enjoy working on every project I work on,” he said.
Zolasko is a Motswana who began his musical journey in 2005 and started doing music professionally in 2009 and 2010.
He studied music production at Dargie Digital Studio. He has 35 singles and 3 albums to his name. He owns a music label called Zolasko Music Lab. He has been involved in a lot of successful projects with artists like Franco, Vee Mampeezy, Slizer, Makesho and others.
