Songbird Cindy Munyavi has been nominated for the Africa Music Awards in the best female musician Southern Africa award.
Her song “Kutsvaga Mari” off the latest album “Music Vocal Cindy” has made it to the Afrima. In an interview, Cindy through her manager Bryce, said she is overwhelmed by the recognition saying she will continue working hard. “We feel so blessed, humbled, grateful and owe everything to God and we promise to continue working hard,” she said.Cindy Munyavi Nominated For Afrima Award |
“We will make sure that our music will represent Africa and I feel that is why I have managed to get international recognition,” she said. She added that she is looking forward to bring the award home because competition is not stiff in her category as compared to last year.
“We are just praying that we will be able to bring the award home though the result lies in the people who are going to vote and the judges but we feel last year we had a stiffer competition since we were competing with bigger brands in the industry, the likes of Mampi and Zahara, we just pray we bring the award home,” she said.
Cindy, who opened a fashion outlet in the city centre of Harare last year, is set to attend the Afrima ceremony donning her own designs. Last year Cindy won the best female musician Southern Africa ahead of Mampi, Zahara and other popular African divas.
