ONE of the youngest female prisoners was fortunate enough to benefit from the Presidential pardon.
The 17-year-old was convicted of raping her mentally-challenged cousin who was the same age as her and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
She was moved from Bindura to Harare female prisons, but was fortunate enough to serve only three months.
“I will go back to finish my education, I dropped out when I was in Form 4,” she said.
She told H-Metro she has learnt a lot from her experience behind bars.
“Life is so much more precious than we view it and we must not take each other for granted.
“Life was not easy considering my age since I had to fit in an environment which had people way older than me.”
