Women should exercise and keep fit in order to keep their husband’s eyes on them only, according to a Mabelreign fitness club team captain.
Vongai Tome said this yesterday at Ellis Robins Boys High where more than 250 women attended a mini fitness boot camp.
“This is just a mini boot camp where we have gathered as women who want to keep fit. It used to be a “white people” activity but we have taken the initiative in our different communities to introduce aerobics as a way of keeping fit.
“Women should know that through exercise they prevent diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. More importantly, getting rid of “love handles” or “dunlops” as they are commonly called will definitely be a plus to keeping your husband,” she said.
The organiser of the event Tendai Chituwa, said his wish was to have all women engage in fitness programs as it has more advantages.
“Women should not be shy to exercise. Exercising helps us fight against many diseases including obesity. In the past women were not interested in exercising but things have changed and more women now love exercising.
“I used to be a soccer player and I played for Railstars Football Club, when I got injured in 2009 that is when I decided to start a fitness program. People should go green and start having organic foods, they should stay away from GMOs,” he said.
Amongst the participants was heavily pregnant Agness Dube who said she enjoyed exercising as it was a way of keeping fit and healthy.
It was a fun-filled day as the women showed that they were enjoying the activities that they were partaking in.
They had competitions in various categories including rope skipping, stepper and lunges.
Out of the six teams that were present Zee Tindo Fitness club was the overall winner and the team members walked away with a trophy and medals.
Bongie from Team Mabelreign won the aerobics last person standing trophy.
